I am by no means an expert on living outside. I’m looking for some help revising our Christmas list for our packages. Is there anything you can see we are missing? Use #operationstockingstuffer to send in your additions.

Want to sponsor some stockings? Are you a company who would love to donate and spread Christmas cheer? Let us know with hashtag #operationstockingstuffer.

My Christmas gift to my family this year is a project I am calling Operation Stocking Stuffer. This is one part art project, one part social experiment, and lots of love mixed in.

I believe art can be a powerful tool used to communicate things we don’t talk about, and I love the idea of using Christmas as a time to do this about homelessness. The simple idea: giant human sized stocking left on the walls of homeless communities under bridges filled with things they need. This could be sweatshirts, gift cards, candy, but especially sleeping bags.

Put the stocking together, and BAM, go out and put it up for them to have and for our community recognize the humanity of everyone.

I asked a few friends have about a hundred people responded in the first day that are willingly to help me (at least distribute them). Do you have anyone I could speak with about helping get this off the ground or to make this Christmas miracle happen? Or sleeping bags meets top needs to include in these stockings?

This tumblr is my journey to figuring out how I can make this happen, one day at a time, as a countdown to Christmas in Chicago.

Question is: Do you believe in Christmas miracles?
